Sam has over 20 years experience as an educator and is a qualified trainer and knows how to create a safe and inclusive environment to learn new things. She is passionate about helping people rediscover their creative selves, and connecting people to nature as a means to achieve both individual and ecological wellbeing.

Come join us for a fun 4 hour drawing sessions inspired by marine creatures!

Part biological illustration, part philosophy, these workshops are where you can have fun with pastel pencils and foster your inner creative. No previous drawing experience necessary! These are for beginners.

Basic drawing techniques using pastel pencils.
Introduction to drawing on coloured paper.
Introduction to shading to replicate colours and patterns in your sea creature.
Shadowing techniques to highlight fins or bring depth to the seadragon’s body or contours on a nudi!

Just yourself and you own reusable water bottle.

All drawing materials including reference photos by local WA underwater photographers.

UPDATE - After a summer in the water, we’re now looking to prepare some Winter workshops for 2025.
In the meantime, I’m available to run workshops for special events, whether it be a special personal celebration, or a corporate event. I’ve run workshops as part of the Fremantle Festival, Ocean-Life Festival, Bay Life in Bremer Bay and special events for Perth Scuba - including a new workshop on offer, a Shark Session!
